I'm Sam's neighbour and I already miss his booming voice rousing Ruby and Chester for school in the morning. Sam was a great friend to me and all my family. If you don't know, I am the most conventional person ever and therefore the polar opposite of the Sam you all know. I loved the Barbie dolls climbing his back wall through the 90's, the whale that's graced the front garden these past years and all the juggling and fire eating in between. Sam never judged me for my conformism though. I am grateful for the different perspective on life he has given my 2 boys and am so grateful for all the kindness and friendship he gave me over the years. I will think of him every time I hear a Bradford City result, every time I see a privet hedge needing a makeover and whenever I pass an allotment. My thoughts are with Ruby, Chester and Pippa at this sad,sad time - their loss is so much greater than mine. I look forward to seeing people on the 15th Feb and sharing our memories of such a wonderful character
