Watching our beloved Stoke from the Boothen End; Watching Sam play for Millward Hall F.C. in that headband; New Year’s Eve Party in Hartington and running wild in fancy dress through the Churchyard terryfying NYE revellers on their way home from the pub; Convincing me to go to Wembley Stadium in 1974 to a concert he was convinced Dylan would join - he didn’t but I will be eternally grateful to Sam that I got to see Crosby, Stillls Nash and Young, Joni Mitchell and The Band; Steve R’s 21st Birthday Party in Bangor; Driving up to Hartington in thick fog and onto a remote pub in Earl Sterndale on the day his Dad died.....we lost touch but it is was beautiful that we managed to speak on the telephone during his last few days...miss you Sam but I’ll never forget you ..John
