Mr Scurfield taught chess at our school for a number of years and has seen us win a number of tournaments due to his excellent tutoring. He will be fondly remembered by many of our pupils and staff. One Year 5 child summed it up beautifully when he said, ‘What’s good is that every time we see a chess piece from now on, we will remember Mr Scurfield.’ He has certainly made an impact on many members of our school community.
