I am very sad to hear the news. Mr Scurfield was a fantastic chess teacher. He taught everyone very patiently and enthusiastically. Before he came most of my class didn’t know how to play chess but now they can play it very well. Because he taught us so well many people have played in events outside school, including two people in the finals for the north of the England. This was thanks to Mr Scurfield and I will miss him.
